I love painting. writing. finding. capturing. sharing. making.

Hi, I’m Genni Lib!

Artist, photographer, mom of two and former communications pro - now focused on building a steady, creative studio art practice.

We moved to this gorgeous town of Beaufort a few months ago and currently, I’m seeking a paid apprenticeship with a local working artist(s) or creative organization - ideally someone who doesn’t mind a pop of hot pink in the highlights and is open to being a mentor.

I’d love to study under someone who is also seeking studio or marketing support as I bring a solid communications background, a steady camera hand and a knack for logistics. Ultimately, I bring a deep respect for the kind of wild, expressive dedication that it takes to make art work.

Selected Artwork

Below, you’ll find a gallery that spans portraits, pastel studies, watercolor moments, sketchbook scribbles, handmade jewelry, and playful, reverent landscapes - each piece shaped by a “wondering” mind and a heart grounded in the quiet awe of nature. Perfectionism is the enemy. My work is influenced by artists like Odilon Redon, the post-impressionists, and contemporary painters who treat hue and shadow with more emotional truth than literalism.

I’ve spent 15+ years in communications, creative direction & brand storytelling.

That background still comes in handy—especially when supporting other artists, small teams, and community organizations with content, campaigns, and thoughtful visuals. View my selected communications work below:

Seeking: Studio Support Roles

  • I’m looking for a paid studio assistant/apprentice role with Beaufort artists, authors, galleries, and/or creative, community organizations.

  • The sweet spot for me is a place where I can roll up my sleeves - whether that’s sanding frames, photographing events or finished work, setting up for shows, or simply keeping a studio humming.

  • I’m especially drawn to creative writing, painting, pastels, pottery, jewelry, and sculpture, and I’m eager to grow through mentorship and hands-on practice.

  • If in person, I’m available part-time, up to 20 hours a week M-F. I have increased bandwidth if some responsibilities can be fulfilled virtually or remotely.

  • I’m hoping to make valuable contributions to the community I’m looking to join. I bring with me both reliability and two decades of design, storytelling, and community work. Please view my communications and photography portfolios for more.

I’m looking for a paid studio assistant or apprentice role with a local artist, gallery, or creative organization; ideally one rooted in nature, color, and community.

I’m especially interested in working alongside artists who’ve made the leap: the ones who’ve said yes to the sometimes messy, sometimes magical commitment of a creative life. I bring strong communication and visual design experience to the table, and I’m ready to show up, pitch in, and learn by doing.

    • Community & Industry Experience – Being part of a space where there’s plenty of room for solitude and just as much for collaboration.

    • Event & Exhibition Support – Helping with logistics, installation, promotion, or event flow, especially in public-facing or community-minded projects.
